About

I am a dietitian turned family medicine physician with a strong passion to help demystify nutrition, address weight bias, and move past diet culture to achieve complete wellness. I believe all people are able to achieve health (regardless of their size) if they commit to addressing the 4 pillars of wellness (nutritional, physical, psychological and environmental). I currently work as a hospitalist and am faculty at a local family medicine residency. My path began 15 years ago when I found my passion around health and preventive medicine. I became a registered dietitian and obtained a MS in Nutrition and Dietetics. After working for a few years I returned to medical school with the goal of making a larger impact with patients. I obtained my MD and Public Health Path of Distinction from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. I completed a Family Medicine Residency at North Colorado Family Medicine. I currently work as a hospitalist for Banner Health and serve as faculty for North Colorado Family Medicine (I write for this website independent of those entities). I recently started my own business, Nutrition Health Life, LLC, which is rooted in my passion for helping others achieve health and prevent illness through education and online support. In my free time I love to spend time with my husband and my 3 spunky and sweet children, ages 1-5. I also am an avid runner and am going to attempt to qualify for Boston in 2020! If I'm not doing those things you'll probably find my taking on a house project, enjoying a local brewery or hiking in the mountains.
