About

Megan Long, M.D. FAAP is a PEM physician and Assistant Professor at McGovern Medical School, a part of the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. She is originally from Gainesville, Georgia, where she was valedictorian of her high school class. She played Division-I basketball at Cornell University, where she was an English major and cum laude graduate on pre-med curriculum. She completed her medical education at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and her pediatric residency at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx. Following residency, she worked with Westchester Health Associates in a family sports medicine clinic, as well as in the Harlem Pediatric ED, where she was an affiliated Assistant Professor at Columbia University. She completed her Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship at UT Houston. Dr. Long enjoys teaching all levels of learners from medical students to fellows, takes pride in empathizing with parents and families, and loves the pediatric ED. When not in the ED, Megan and her Ironman husband, Curtis stay active with their 3 beautiful daughters. Megan also enjoys baking, scrapbooking, and amateur Ironman and endurance sports. She and her husband are looking forward to coaching their girls more in their athletic endeavors as they get older.
