About

Dr. Schwartz grew up on the shores of Lake Ontario in upstate NY. She earned her undergraduate degree at Cornell University, masters degree in Public Health at Columbia University, and her medical degree at Pennsylvania State College of Medicine. She completed emergency medicine residency at Maricopa Medical Center prior to pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at the University of California San Diego/Rady Children’s Hospital. She is an Assistant Clinical Professor at UCSD with joint appointments in the Departments of Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics. She is the Assistant Program Director of the UCSD EM residency and the pediatric emergency medicine rotating EM resident site director for the Rady Children's Hospital ED. Her research interests include pediatric quality improvement and medical education. In her spare time, she enjoys water sports, hiking, off-the-map travel, and spending time with her husband, who is also an emergency medicine physician, and their 120 lb dog, Gus.
