About
Cristina (Cristy) Sanchez is a second year medical student at the Florida State University College of Medicine. She was born and raised in Miami, FL within a proud Hispanic household. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology in 2015 and Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences in 2019. Prior to medical school, she spent seven years working as an Emergency Room Medical Scribe which fueled her excitement for medicine and passion to become a physician. In her medical school, she has served Emergency Medicine Interest Group (EMIG) president for two consecutive years, as Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA)’s
liaison to Student National Medical Association (SNMA) and as the current Secretary-Editor for Florida College of Emergency Physicians (FCEP) Medical School Council. She is passionate about wellness, specifically for students and physicians, as well as mentorship. Cristy enjoys spending time with her husband and two dogs outdoors, as well as taking care of her plants. She is expecting a little one in March 2022.
