About

Rabia de Latour is a double board certified (IM/GI) gastroenterologist and therapeutic endoscopist who specializes in pancreaticobiliary disorders, interventional, bariatric and luminal endoscopy. After graduating from Cornell University, she went to medical school at Stony Brook University SOM. She then went on to NYU School of Medicine for internal medicine residency (3 years), gastroenterology fellowship (3 years) and advanced therapeutic endoscopy fellowship (1 year). In 2018 she joined the faculty at NYU and currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at NYU SOM and the acting director of endoscopy at Bellevue Hospital. Rabia has active roles in the medical school, residency and fellowship, focusing on education - primarily focused on gastroenterology and pancreaticobiliary disorders.


Procedures that she specializes in included: endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), bariatric endoscopy, deep enteroscopy, colonoscopy and upper endoscopy. She often treats ill patients suffering from malignancy, many of whom hail from marginalized and underserved populations. She has a passion for sustainability and founded the Clinician Sustainability Advisory Board at NYU, which is focused on improving the carbon footprint of the hospital through reducing waste, recycling non-soiled products and donating unused medical supplies to charity. In addition to these endeavors she has a strong interest in global health and has had the opportunity to work in hospitals in Istanbul, Turkey as well as Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. Rabia can also be seen on several broadcast and print news outlets including FOX5NY where she serves as a regular medical correspondent and print outlets such as the New York Times, Womens Health, Huffington Post, Health Magazine, Vice Magazine among others. In her free time you can catch her playing tennis in her local league, painting, gardening or watching Bravo. She strongly believes in empowering and uplifting female physicians, particularly those in male dominated fields. Of all her roles, the most important is "mom"!
